Green Deal Assessor Training

The Green Deal Assessor or Green Deal Advisor qualification is nearing accreditation and is likely to become available in late May for Domestic and in July for Commercial buildings.
The Green Deal Advisor training courses will be offered as either full week long courses for new entrants, part distance-learning courses for new entrants and short one or two day update courses for existing energy assessors.
Because the core of the Green Deal Assessor qualification is the same as the Domestic Energy Assessor qualification, if you are already a DEA you do not have to repeat the whole three day DEA training course which makes up the bulk of what Green Deal training will include. Instead, the course is a one-day "update" which Energy Foundation will run once it has been finally ratified.
Right now, if you are not already an accredited DEA, you can beat the rush and start preparing for Green Deal with Energy Foundation's Domestic Energy Assessor training programme.
We know now that the Domestic GDA qualification will be a full qualification including 5 EPCs for assessment that include Green Deal Reports and the assessor must see the candidate delivering the report to the customer.
The Commercial GDA is more of a top-up course and to be a Commercial GDA one must first be a qualified NDEA.
The courses are likely to cost approximately £1000 as updates for exiting qualified Energy Assessors and £2000 for new entrants to the profession.
All Energy Foundation Training courses include ABBE registration, assessment and exams. There is no more to pay.
Only ABBE Assessment Centres are likely to have the qualification available for release in time for learners to be qualified by October this year.
Energy Foundation Training are taking expressions of interest in these courses and the first course will run on or around the 25th of June. You can be assured that through Energy Foundation you will get a thorough course yet be one of the first to qualify.
