Display Energy Certificate Courses


Become a Display Energy Certificate Energy Assessor! Energy Foundation Training offer DipDEC Energy Assessor courses. This ABBE qualification will alow you to produce DECs for all public bulildings and help you develop a career as an energy assessor. A Display Energy Certificate is required for all public sector buildings (schools, council offices etc) over 1000 sqm, reducing to 250 sqm soon.

DECs show the actual energy usage of a building, its Operational Rating, and helps the public see the energy efficiency of the building. DECs are based on the energy consumption of the building as recorded by gas, electricity and other meters. A DEC should be clearly displayed at all time and is required to be renewed on an annual basis.

A DEC is always accompanied by an Advisory Report that lists cost effective measures to improve the energy rating of the building. The Advisory Report element of a DEC is valid for 7 years.

The Dip DEC Certificate Training Course is structured in 3 parts, these is a two day training course that teaches you the theory behind DECs and the surveys required. Provision of evidence of competency via portfolio of evidence where you undertake 3 case study DECs. You will also be sitting a written exam of 30 multiple choice questions.

Combining Non-Domestic Energy Assessment and Display Energy Certificate Qualifications is sensible.
DIP NDEA combined with Dip DEC training is available as one 5 day course from £2495 + vat. For candidates who have already completed a NDEA course; a 1 day DEC course on the Friday of each week is available, with full assessment from £995 + vat.
